BBQ's

On Saturday, May 23rd, in celebration of Memorial Day, Sal cooked up some burgers, dogs, beans, corn and tossed a little salad for those hanging out at Silver Palms RV Resort. The question: Is Amanda supervising, assisting or just watching? Hmmm. Stay tuned, and plan to come for these upcoming, delicious Saturday BBQ Celebrations, 2-4pm, Poolside. BYOB, and remember fun to please leave the glass at home.
  • June 13th - Father's Day
  • July 4th - Independence Day
  • September 5th - Labor Day

Organizers are needed to lead and/or teach a group. It's possible to have more than one leader per group. These leaders are also the liaison between the group member and the lifestyle director. They work with the director to find space and determine the best time based on the current schedule of activities. The director will also communicate this information through all available channels. Needed:
  • Library. This entails weeding out and replacing books, plus adding any new donations to the shelves. After several years, Barbara Striker has decided to pass the wand. Thank you, Barbara, for giving Palms everyone a well-organized library!
  • Hand and Foot. Several people touring have asked if this is an activity. Is anyone out there willing to start this up?

Resortgate
An investigation conducted by the Silver Palms RBI has found evidence that the gate code was released to the public by several culprits, too many to pin down, and the scandal perpetuated due to an inefficient process. "This has to stop," said the Resort GM, Lisa Migliore. To prevent future violations, Silver Palms RV Resort is in the process of installing a new gate system, and each owner will be given two cards at no cost. Replacements will cost $5. More details to be released as they come in. (FYI: (1) this is just a fun pun against all the "gates" in the news; (2) the old gate code will still work until all owners have access to their gate cards.)

Upcoming October Events

Sweetest Day, October 17th, was first celebrated in Cleveland, Ohio, when Candy Maker C.C. Hartzel distributed 20,000 boxes of candy to young orphans, the elderly and poor people. So let's start off the season with Brown Cow Sweetery teaching us candy making and then putting together little candy treats to deliver to the local nursing home. Who's in? On the 17th Wine Tasting; 19th 1st Margarita Monday w/Cowboy Karaoke; 21st Trivia Night; 24th Karaoke; 26th Margarita Monday with Eryk the DJ; 28th Bar Poker; and 31st Halloween Dinner/Dance. Details may change over time, and the online calendar will always be the main source for info.

Manager's Final Word
By Lisa Grasso Migliore
There's a lot of work being accomplished here at Silver Palms in this steamy Florida heat - from painting to cleaning to updating the facilities. I've hired Aquatic Vegetation to maintain our lakes and wetlands; they are expected to begin in June Silver. The new bathhouse has sheetrock and spackle and is on schedule for completion. Also, a new storage update is in the process of being outlined. It will be released to the owners in a separate communication. In closing, I'll do my best to keep you up-to-date throughout the summer in this monthly, off-season newsletter. And know that anytime you have questions and comments, feel free to drop me a line by clicking here. If it concerns you, it concerns me!
